I have been in love with Hindi Cinema as long as I can remember. Known as “Bollywood”, the Indian Film Industry produces entertaining movies, typically three to four hours long with many songs and well-choreographed dances. Bollywood movies and music are an obsession among Indians as well as other fans of the neighboring countries in the South East Asian region. The minute a new Indian movie featuring favorite Bollywood stars hits theaters, the tickets are sold out.
I learned to speak and understand Hindi just by watching and listening to Hindi movies and music. And that will give you an idea about how much time I have spent watching Bollywood movies!! Too much!
Bollywood movies are full of wonderful songs and lyrical Hindi music as well as a great combination of an actress and an actor carefully chosen to portray a beautiful story on screen. Shah Rukh Kahan and Kajol, Anil Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit, Amir Khan and Juhi Chawla are known for their chemistry on screen and have rocked on screen together in so many movies.

Most Indian movies consist of all or some aspects of their beautiful culture from their clourful dresses to food and rituals giving you a glimpse of Indian lifestyle. Hindi movies are also known to be unrealistically romantic. But they are packed with action, a beautiful story of boy meets girl, melodious songs and a happy ending.
Hindi Cinema is an industry built not only by the famous highly-paid actors but also the people behind the screens who dedicate their lives, effort and creativity in producing these beautiful movies. From the song composers to dancers, from directors to make up artists, from cameramen to exotic, extravagant costume makers.. every individual who contributes to making Bollywood movies is an essential part of Indian Cinema. Their entertainment industry is continuously thriving and flourishing.
Now, I am off to watch my all time favorite Hindi movie, “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” featuring my favorite Bollywood pair!! Enjoy your Sunday everyone!
