Ready, Set, Go!

Today’s daily prompt is, Ready, Set, Done:

Our free-write is back by popular demand: today, write about anything — but you must write for exactly ten minutes, no more, no less.

Well, daily post put me in a difficult position today. When I am exhausted from a long day at work, it is difficult for me to think of a particular thing to write so I often end up with a boring post. (like I ever write something interesting. Who am I kidding?). The timing is okay with me, but I love it when I am given a topic or an object or whatever thing to guide me, inspire me and motivate me to write. Maybe if I keep trying this free-write 10 minute prompt quite often, then who knows? I might actually get used to it and one of these days, the outcome would be much more creative.

Sadly, though, it won’t be today.

There’s nothing exciting to write about today. My day was blah and I was at work until 7.30PM. The only good thing about today is it rained so much. I love when it rains (You already know how I feel about too much sunlight). No matter where I am, as a kid who looks at his favorite toy in a shop through a window, I’d always look out from someplace and enjoy the pitter-patter. Unbelievably, I find it is so peaceful when it rains, despite the loud noise the rain creates. For another thing, after rain, the air is so fresh and alive, so are the tress and the ground. The dust is washed off and the scent of the rain is just refreshing. One thing I really love doing on rainy days is jumping on my bed or couch (both are by the windows) with a cup of hot chocolate—or better, coffee—and listen to the sound of rain while reading or writing. It is my meditation; my mantra for a peaceful mind. Cuddling on a rainy day is better than just writing or being alone, but I never got the chance to actually cuddle with someone on a rainy day. It’s weird. So that’s something I want to try someday and look forward to in my future relationships.

Well, look at that. My 10 minutes are finished. Man, I could go on and on about rain.

Happy writing, darlings!
