Today’s daily prompt is: Secret Admirers
You return home to discover a huge flower bouquet waiting for you, no card attached. Who is it from — and why did they send it to you?
To begin with, as much as I’d like to, I cannot give you a lovely post today for today’s daily prompt, because for one thing, I have zero secret admirers—I never had any in the past either. Maybe there were some admirers, but they were some lame secret admirers who didn’t want to appear before me. However, on the other hand, I have been the secret admirer of people a few times—and, I’m glad the only adventurous thing I ever tried was slipping an anonymous note under a guy’s room around 11pm when I was in college. Oh well, he turned out to be a stoner and that was that. Casey, if you’re reading this, I’m sorry about knocking at your door at 11 pm on a school night and running away with my friend. But, it was the only legit way I could think of to give you my handwritten note than in person.
The truth is I have never received flowers from a guy. If that makes me sound pathetic or something else, I don’t really care. The only flowers I receive are from my students on the teacher’s day or on my birthday. I don’t like receiving things, gifts from guys anyway—not that I wouldn’t appreciate if I do get flowers. I like giving more. It doesn’t bother me or upset me that I have never given flowers at all. I love buying people gifts, doing gestures for them and making them feel special and I do them solely because I love giving. I never intend to get something back when I go out of my way to make someone feel appreciated or loved. If I ever get flowers from someone to be delivered to my home, at first, I’d completely be caught off guard as I literally can’t think of anyone who’d go out of their ways to deliver flowers to my house. Instead of feeling all butterflies-in-my-stomach, I’d panic twice as much as I should be, because it’d be creepy to receive flowers when I have zero people who would legitimately want to send flowers to my house.
Who is it from?! Who is it from?!
The answer is simple; someone has probably made a wrong delivery, for sure!
