Writing for Myself.

Today’s Daily Prompt is, A Bookish Choice :

A literary-minded witch gives you a choice: with a flick of the wand, you can become either an obscure novelist whose work will be admired and studied by a select few for decades, or a popular paperback author whose books give pleasure to millions. Which do you choose?

Obscure Novelist—because, I do not write to become known. I write because it gives me a great pleasure and contentment when I bring my thoughts into life on an empty page. It’s therapeutic. I write because I crave to write and to release myself, my voice and my thoughts—not because I want others to recognize me or my writing—but, I guess, if they do, it won’t be a bad thing either. I would be happy that my writing is admired by a few. I do not write to pleasure someone else. As selfish as it sounds, I write for myself. Therefore, I would definitely be an obscure novelist.
