Daily Prompt for August 6 was Writer’s Block Party.
When was the last time you experienced writer’s block? What do you think brought it about — and how did you dig your way out of it?
The last time I was having a harder time to replace my thoughts with words occurred last Thursday. I was too intense to write and stressed because I couldn’t find the time and the right words to get started on writing. Secondly, I wasn’t motivated enough because I was exhausted from work.
Whenever, I feel like I can’t write because I’m having the writer’s block, I take a step back and relax until I can eventually get back to my writing with a more relaxed, composed mind with a refreshing energy—no matter how long that break from writing would take. Once I am prepared to start with a little bit of writing, I begin jotting down small pieces of thoughts and slowly work my way up. Whenever I’m having a writer’s block, I take a step back and collect my thoughts because it really helps me to get my writing flow running smoothly.
